I’m amazed
And sometimes ashamed
At what some say
About church these days
The ways of the few
Misguiding the pews
Using and abusing
The do’s
and don’ts
That won’t
Change the hearts
Of men
Not back then
When sin
got in
Then, we turned to God
To restart
Our hearts
Anew and to do
His will
Not to fulfill
Man’s plan
That demand we stand
Under hand
And even now
Somehow
We allow,
No, disavow
Abuse and misuse
Of the sheep
Mostly fleeced
As they bleep
And weep
Down deep
Inside
As the skies cry,
No more fleecing

This is indeed brilliant! And so timely. And inspiring/motivating for me -as a sheep- to be sure my fleece is as white as snow and the Shepherd I follow is the right One!
