My hero

Do you know what a hero is
Or what a hero does
A hero sacrifices this life
To dispense charity and love

A hero protects, guides
Teaches and directs
Never really knowing
How much of it will have effect

With strength and patience
All things are endured
No fear or pain can hinder
Your mission, it’s self-assured

A sense of humor that could
Make the funniest comedian cry
Fun to be around
Even if your company’s shy

You make everyone feel loved,
free to be themselves around you
No matter who’s in your presence
Your goodness shines through

I hope I’ve defined what
A hero does, and can do
For everything I’ve described
Is my hero, You
