I really don’t know how
Anyone else eats cornbread
I don’t get too fancy with it
Not let it go to my head
Coming from the skillet
Especially when I’m eatin greens
In which case I eat pie
It’s sweet potato that I feign
Don’t ask, I don’t know why
When I want the two together
I forgot cornbread
I’d rather have the pies’
Yummy sweetness instead

As I read this poem I thought about how Mr. Food was making sweet potato biscuits just the other day!

It sounds interesting. I’d at least like to give them a try. Once.

So now I got Anthony Hamilton’s “Cornbread, Fish, & Collard Greens” stuck in my head…. and to add to that, I’m hungry. Lol… Another great poem.

I love me some neo-soul and gospel. It messes with my friends. My house smells like tacos, beans, rice, and salsa…. and I have a matching accent… but I dig soul music. 🤷🏽♂️🎵🎶🎛🕺🏽
