On the Offbeat

Iambic pentameter
That sounds like a crazy beat
One stressed and unstressed
Syllable is how it should be

At least in reverse
A foot, that’s an iamb
And having five of them,
Makes the pent jam

Iambic pentameter
Sounds like a crazy beat
Shakespeare used them often
In his work I’ve seen

But, soft! what light
through yonder window breaks?

~Shakespeare

At least that’s how it goes
That’s mostly the way

He staged his wording
Gathering foots and feats
Then herding

Them together
Creating much
treasures

For us to enjoy
And to pass along these parts
To inspire our creativity
And to lure in our hearts

      1. Sure doesn’t feel that way! That could be a good thing, so I’ll leave it like that! “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith…Romans 12:3
