United by Diversity

The spirit between us
When we interact or play a game
The feelings we have between us
Is never quit the same

It’s as if we are communing
Getting closer to each other
Like you are my real sister
And you’re my instant brother

From another mother.
But yet we share the same space
We cover one another
In this human, this race

I treat you
As if you were me
And share each others pain
Is how it should be

Instead, we grapple and we fight
About the silliest of things
Red tape, blue states
Black skin, right winged

Here’s the plan,
You think of me, I’ll think of you
I’ll care what you care about,
and somehow, we’ll muddle through
